During last several years, the number singing competitions have been out in an all time high. You may have caught, American Idol, X-Factor, America’s Got Talent, or the Voice, just to name a few. With each new show, it the appeal for singing seems to grow.  This did not change on December 21st, 2016, when a new 3d animated, drama – musical film was introduced called, “Sing”. Just 8 days after opening night, it already made over 100 million dollars.

“Sing”, takes place in a world just like ours, except instead of people, all the characters are animals. These animals do all the same things that humans do. They walk, talk, work, eat and even sing. In fact, these animals are tremendous singers.

The movie is about a dashing koala bear, named Buster Moon, who owns a theater which was once thriving, but is now struggling to stay afloat. Buster is determined not to give up until he finds a way to raise the money and breathe life back into the business and make it successful once again.

After some brainstorming, Buster decides to host a singing competition and award the winner with $1000 Dollars. The problem happened when the fliers were sent out, apparently without a proper editing. Instead of offering $1000 Dollars as the prize, it read, $100,000 Dollars. Buster did not have to worry about turn out though. This big faux-pas attracted a mass of singers, drawing practically all the animals in the city to this singing competition.

You may recognize many of the voices of the characters because the cast voice overs are full of celebrities. Some of the celebrity voices you will hear include, Mathew McConougheys, as Buster. Reese Witherspoon, as Rosita. Seth Macfarlane, as Mike. Scarlett Johansson, as Ash; Jennifer Hudson as Young Nana and many others.

Sing is a fun filled stories about talent animals who can sing, but it is also see what can be done in the face of great challenges. Taking action, never giving up and finding new and creative was to combat your obstacles in life will get you to where you want to be!
